- What is Obol?
Obol is a project dedicated to scaling Ethereum by enhancing the security, resiliency, and decentralization of its consensus layer. This is achieved through the development and deployment of distributed validators (DVs). Unlike traditional validators, which are vulnerable to single points of failure, distributed validators operate across multiple nodes, significantly reducing the risk of downtime or compromise. Obol offers solutions for both deploying distributed validators and staking on protocols that utilize them, thereby strengthening the overall Ethereum network.

- Distributed Validators (DVs): Obol enables validators to operate across multiple nodes (4, 7, or 10), enhancing fault tolerance and reducing the risk of network compromise.Enhanced Security: DVs improve security by ensuring that no single node has access to the full validator private key, preventing key compromise.Resilient Operation: The system uses threshold signing, allowing a validator to remain operational as long as more than 66% of the nodes are online.Decentralization: By promoting the use of distributed validators, Obol strengthens the overall decentralization of the Ethereum network, mitigating risks associated with single points of failure.
